Life & Portrait - Drawing with Life Model - All Abilities

Course intent

In this inspiring one- day workshop you can try life drawing for the first time or discover new techniques and strengthen existing observational drawing skills, working exclusively from the unclothed figure.

A mixed ability group means you can learn from other people in the class whilst discovering your own style.

Enjoy the well-being benefits gained through working in a friendly, creative learning environment.

What will we cover?

• Quick drawing techniques to warm up

  • Measuring the figure
  • Addressing negative spaces
  • Composition and mark making through use of extended drawing tools.
  • Working on poses which vary in length depending on the theme
  • Safeguarding, Prevent & British Values

Learners will be inspired by the contemporary and historical context and will need to keep a sketchbook / notebook to record ideas, processes and progress, and the feedback they receive from the tutor.

There will be demonstrations, instruction, one-to-one tutorial guidance, group discussions and critiques.

To ensure that learners make good progress with their personal learning goals, the tutor will work with the learner to complete the required Individual Learning Plan.
