Course intent
Get ready for Christmas and learn to make a range of savoury & sweet, tasty festive treats, to enjoy with the family at home or for entertaining with friends.
This workshop intends to provide you with the skills and knowledge to create classic Christmas bakes and treats. The tutor will introduce you to or reinforce your knowledge of key ingredients, skills, and techniques. The tutor will be using recipes that are as healthy as possible, full of flavour and realistic for you to reproduce on your own long after the workshop.
What will we cover?
You will learn how to make a selection of delicious dishes to help you get ahead for the festive season, this hands-on course will include key time saving tips and techniques.
We will send you 4 recipes and you can choose which 3 recipes to make on the day. These will include 2 sweet dishes, 1 savoury and 1 vegetarian option, to ensure you have something for everyone, ready for Christmas
Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?
This workshop is suitable for all abilities, from beginners to those with more knowledge and experience. Less experienced or less confident bakers may be encouraged to limit the number of dishes they prepare.
This workshop is suitable for vegetarians and those with any specific dietary requirements. The tutor will always be able to suggest alternative ingredients.
As our workshops are taught in English, please contact us if you have any concerns about your level of English.
Once enrolled on this workshop you will receive detailed instructions for taking part and some required documentation, we ask you to complete.
What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?
The workshop fees do NOT include the cost of ingredients, and you are responsible for supplying your own ingredients for the lessons. You will receive an email before the start of the course, informing you of the ingredients and equipment you will need for your lesson. You tutor should be able to suggest alternative for both ingredients and equipment, so discuss any concerns with them.
Please ensure you have an apron, tea-towels, a pen and reading glasses (if you use them), so that you can read and make notes on the recipes.
It is important to wear clothes and footwear suitable for your kitchen.
What can I do when I finish the course?
At the end of these workshops in discussion with your tutor, you can decide what the best progression for you might be. We have a range of general and more specialist cookery and baking courses available, throughout the year.
The tutor will also be able to advise you on external courses, workshops and other opportunities to develop your understanding, knowledge and skills.
