Digital Photography - Using your Digital Camera - Beginners

Course intent

A workshop for beginners where you will gain confidence, knowledge and understanding of using your camera more creatively.

What will we cover?

• A sound general knowledge of photographic skills

  • Identifying and using the camera's options and capture modes
  • Exploration of composition
  • Lighting
  • Practical exercises using your camera's manual settings to achieve different effects

There may be opportunities to take photos outside, weather and venue permitting.

Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?

This workshop is for beginners. No skill with any type of camera is required, just a willingness to learn and a camera.

As our courses are taught in English, please contact us if you have any concerns about your level of English.

What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?

Your camera and its fully-detailed camera instruction manual (Book/pdf format)

What can I do when I finish the course?

In discussion with your tutor you may like to progress onto our other Arts & Crafts courses where photography would be an advantage. We also offer longer 10 week courses in Photography for beginners in Woking on a Monday evening and a Tuesday morning, and Photography for Improvers at Camberley and Farnham centres. There are some 5 week photography courses in Camberley and we offer some photography courses online. We also offer further photography Saturday workshops and courses that focus on specific skills, such as photoshop and using the camera on your smart phone.

If you are enrolling within 10 days of the course start date, we may not be able to contact you before your first class.
