Quick grant eligibility check for an A3 Electric Vehicle (EV) grant funding programme

Please note these are the eligibility questions for all applicants to the A3 EV Grant scheme. If you answer Yes to all of the questions or statements below, then your business should be eligible.

Business or charity eligibility

1. Are you a registered business (including sole trader, limited company or partnership) or charity in the UK?

2. Has the company or charity been trading, in the UK, continuously for 2 years from the date of application?

3. The company is not in administration, insolvent, bankrupt or had a striking off notice issued or in the process of doing so?

4. Has your company received less than £315,000 in subsidy from any area of the UK Government in the last 3 years? You can check subsidies received.

Current vehicle eligibility

5. Do you drive at least one van or light commercial vehicle (N1 or M1 vehicle)?

6. Does the light commercial vehicle run on diesel fuel only?

7. Has your business or charity owned this vehicle for at least a year? Is it the registered keeper?

8. Is the light commercial vehicle (Category N1 or M1) roadworthy with a valid MOT and tax?

9. Is the light commercial vehicle currently insured for business or charity activity?

Journeys eligibility

10. Do you drive at least 150 single journeys – that's approximately 3 single trips a week or 6 return trips a month – on the A3 between the A31 to Farnham junction and the Woodbridge Hill junction (the junction after the University/Cathedral junction)? You can check the qualifying stretch of the A3 between A31 to Farnham junction and Woodbridge Hill junction to A25 and A322 on the map.

11. Can you provide evidence of these journeys – contracts, evidence of deliveries / collections / orders, telematic data?

New electric vehicle eligibility

12. Can you confirm the category of the new electric van or light commercial vehicle you intend to purchase, if your application is approved, is a N1 or M1 or class I, II or III from the eligible vehicle list? You can check the list of eligible light commercial vehicles.

Future requirements

13. Are you confident you will continue to do at least 150 single journeys annually for 2 years on this qualifying stretch of the A3 between A31 to Farnham junction and Woodbridge Hill junction to A25 and A322?

14. Will you accept the installation of telematics to monitor the number of journeys undertaken on the relevant section of the A3?

15. Can you confirm your business will remain the registered keeper of the new vehicle for at least 2 years?
