Delivering social value in Surrey means maximising our positive impact:
- achieving more than we can with our own resources; and
- achieving better, more long-lasting outcomes through working together
The Surrey Social Value Model ensures that we focus the additional value on what is most important in Surrey right now. Our social value priorities and outcomes within the model are based on our shared Community Vision for Surrey 2030, which was shaped by people and organisations from across the county, and they also support current organisation strategies in the areas such as public health, the environment and economic development.
Our core mission that no one is left behind is underpinned by our four priority objectives of:
- Growing a sustainable economy so everyone can benefit
- Tackling health inequality
- Enabling a greener future
- Empowering communities
You can read more about each of these priorities in our Organisation Strategy 2023 to 2028 to understand why they are so important and what we hope to achieve in each area.
If you are bidding for a contract with the Council, we will ask you to propose activities and actions that support one or more of these priority areas, usually through reference to the Surrey Social Value Model in the procurement documentation.
Information in the strategies also highlight cited in the model also highlight additional detail relating to the outcomes in the model, and will help guide suppliers gain a deeper understanding of what we hope to achieve. In addition, the needs and priorities list provides lots of information that further supports the Council’s social value objectives.
