Partnership organisations helping schools to deliver music and the arts

Surrey Music Hub

The Surrey Music Hub is a network of organisations and schools working together to bring more musical opportunities to young people across the county, in line with our core and extension aims. Led by Surrey Arts, Surrey Music Hub is a partnership between schools, Arts Partnership Surrey, the Academy of Contemporary Music and the Yehudi Menuhin School.

Culture Box Surrey

Culture Box Surrey developed by Surrey Arts and led by a steering group comprising Head Teachers, leaders of cultural provider organisations and Artsmark. It offers support to schools to engage their students in the creative arts and develop their cultural education.

Surrey Arts Wardrobe

Costume hire

Surrey Arts Wardrobe hires costumes and small props to schools, groups and professional companies for everything from school shows and large scale theatre productions to themed events and costume parades. Surrey Arts Wardrobe is not a members only service, but If your school becomes a member you will receive various benefits and discounts.

Workshops and educational support

Surrey Arts Wardrobe has launched a series of educational workshops that can be tailored to the needs of your curriculum. This includes options for sessions both in your own school, or for small groups, within our wardrobe space at Surrey Arts.

Drama Costume Workshops

Surrey Arts Wardrobe also provide Drama Costume Workshops support and whole class drama workshops at your school for Key stage 3, 4 and 5 students:

  • Explain the role of costume within the film, television and theatre industries.
  • Look at different interpretations of the same play throughout different time periods, how costumes can 'make' a show.
  • Bring in examples and displays to provide an engaging hands-on learning experience.

GCSE/A-Level/BTEC support

Small group workshops based within the wardrobe for costume or drama students. We can talk your students through how to costume a production from planning stages through to creating believable characters, including how correct accessorising can be the key to successful costuming.

Students will also be introduced to budgeting, costume care and the importance of correct historical context within design.
