School and Academy complaints
If you have a concern about your child's school or academy and wish to make a complaint, please contact the school or academy directly.
Ofsted cannot respond to or resolve individual complaints, so it is best to contact the school or academy in the first instance and follow their complaints process to try and resolve the issue.
Talk about your concerns
Try to talk to a member of staff at the school or academy first. Many concerns can be resolved in this way and it helps to maintain a good relationship with the school or academy.
School and Academy complaints procedures
If the informal discussion doesn't work, ask for a copy of the school or academy's complaints procedure and follow their guidance on how to express your concern.
Further action
If you've gone through each stage of the school or academy's complaints procedure and you feel that your complaint has been unreasonably or unlawfully handled, you may refer your complaint to the Department for Education.
School and Academy comments or compliments
If you have a comment or compliment about a school or academy, please contact the school or academy directly.
