Register office ceremonies at the Guildford Harbour Hotel
Due to the forthcoming closure of Guildford Register Office, from 6 September 2026 to 29 March 2027, register office ceremonies for 2 to 18 guests will be hosted in a designated room (Suite 3) within the Guildford Harbour Hotel on Sundays and Mondays only.
Join us at the Harbour Hotel for their wedding showcase on Sunday 23 August, or our Ceremony Room Viewing Day there on Monday 24 August, 10am to 2pm. Book your free tickets via Eventbrite.

Register office ceremonies at the Guildford Harbour Hotel
Due to the forthcoming closure of Guildford Register Office, from 6 September 2026 to 29 March 2027, register office ceremonies for 2 to 18 guests will be hosted in a designated room (Suite 3) within the Guildford Harbour Hotel on Sundays and Mondays only.
Located at The Guildford Harbour Hotel, this venue provides a stylish and contemporary setting, ideal for more intimate ceremonies. It also offers the convenience of onsite hospitality if you wish to celebrate afterwards.

Interior and grounds
- Number of rooms: One.
- Capacity: Our Windsor option has the capacity for the couple and between two to 18 guests (including children and babies).
- Parking: The hotel offers limited paid parking onsite. Additional paid parking is available nearby within Guildford town centre, including G Live car park (approximately two to three minutes’ walk) and High Street car park (approximately three minutes’ walk).
- Ceremony room: The ceremony room provides a modern and intimate setting, suitable for smaller ceremonies
- Ground floor: The ceremony room and reception area are located on the ground floor.
- Hospitality: Couples and guests can take advantage of the hotel’s hospitality before or after the ceremony (charges apply).

Our interior and grounds
This south-facing house is set in its own grounds in a semi-rural situation on the outskirts of Guildford. The interior of the house still retains some of its original features, including several fireplaces and offers a very desirable ceremony suite.
- Number of rooms: Two
- Capacity: Our Buckingham option has capacity for the couple and 48 guests (including children and babies). The Windsor option is Ideal for more intimate ceremonies, suitable for the couple and between two to 18 guests (including children and babies).
- Parking: There is a car park for guests and additional car parking is available on Saturdays at the front of the house.
- Ceremony rooms: Both ceremony rooms are furnished in blue and cream Regency style, with beautiful candle and pendant-style chandeliers.
- Ground floor: The ground floor has a general reception area.
- Garden: The garden has a small arbour, a terrace and stone garden furniture.

- Steps descend to the car park for guests.

About the closure of Guildford Register Office (Artington House)
- Artington House is closing due to rising maintenance and upgrade costs.
- Proceeds from the sale will be reinvested into the Registration and Nationality Service.
- If future planning applications are made, neighbours may be contacted by Guildford Borough Council.
- In preparation, Guildford Library will provide a registration service for births, deaths and notices, with appointments still available online.
- Birth, death and marriage registers and certificate services will move to a new site in Surrey. Certificates can still be purchased online, though there may be a short pause during the move. Updates will be shared as more details become available.
- Due to the forthcoming closure of Guildford Register Office, from 6 September 2026 to 29 March 2027, register office ceremonies for 2 to 18 guests will be hosted in a designated room (Suite 3) within the Guildford Harbour Hotel on Sundays and Mondays only.
- Alternatively, you can book your ceremony at our register offices in Leatherhead or Weybridge.
