Helping you to stay safe when you're transitioning to adulthood
Everyone deserves to feel safe, whether at home, school, work, or with friends.
Sometimes, people experience abuse or neglect. This includes being hit, bullied, stolen from, made fun of, or not supported when needed.
If you feel you are being abused or neglected, this is called a Safeguarding concern. Social Services can help you by:
- finding someone to help you tell your story.
- listening to you and finding out what you would like to do.
- making a plan with you to keep you safe.
Telling somebody
If you are worried about abuse or neglect, you or someone you trust can call 999 if it's an emergency or if someone else is in immediate danger.
Let your Social Worker or Social Work Team know.
If you know Surrey Transition Team, you can:

If you don't know whether you have a Social Worker or Social Work Team, but you are an adult that lives in Surrey, you can report your concern to us. Find out how at Reporting safeguarding concerns.
