These are informal, unregistered groups that enable local parents and carers to meet regularly with their children. They are usually based in church halls or community centres and cater for children from 0 to 5 years old.
Most groups will generally charge a small fee or ask for a voluntary contribution, which helps pay for toys, insurance, craft activities and refreshments.
They are not required to register with Ofsted as parents and carers stay with their children and so remain responsible for them at all times.
