Joint Community and Care Home Provider Closure Protocol

Our joint protocol describes Surrey County Council's powers and duties when services are at risk of interruption in general and, in particular, when the interruption is because a provider's business or individual service has failed. It provides guidance to county council staff on the exercise of those powers and the discharge of those duties.

The protocol also sets out the roles and responsibilities of the council, Clinical Commissioning Groups, providers of services and key stakeholders in the event of a provider or service failure.

Please note that this document will continually be updated to reflect any revised Care Act guidance and in the event of any lessons learnt post any incident debrief. It is therefore recommended that you do not store paper copies of this protocol, and ensure that you refer to this webpage to check for the most current version.

Attached below are also all of the appendices for the Provider Failure Protocol.
