Carers wellbeing break payment terms and conditions

If you meet the eligibility criteria, you must agree to the following conditions before receiving the payment.

Payment details

  • we will provide a 1-off payment of £300 via a pre-paid debit card issued by a company called allpay
  • there is no cash alternative available
  • we will share your details with allpay, who will issue the card directly to your address. See Privacy statement from allpay

Eligibility requirements

You are eligible to receive the payment if you:

  • are 18 years or older
  • provide care for someone who resides in Surrey
  • have not previously received support through the Carer Breaks offer or a GP Personal Health Budget (PHB)
  • do not have an ongoing support plan in place with Surrey Adult Social Care (either for yourself or the person you care for)

The person you care for must:

  • be 18 years or older
  • reside in Surrey
  • not be receiving funded social care support from Surrey Adult Social Care

Terms of use

By accepting and using the allpay debit card, you agree to the following:

  • the payment is intended solely for your personal use to access a carer break. It must not be used for someone else
  • the card can be used to fund any activity or service that facilitates a break from your caring role, except at gambling establishments. See How you can use your payment for ideas on how to use your wellbeing break payment
  • the card cannot be used at pre-pay petrol pumps
  • the funds must be used within 365 days from the date of issue. After this period, the card will be closed
  • cards with a balance of less than £3 after 3 months from the issue date will be closed
  • receipts for purchases are not required; however, we will conduct periodic random checks on card usage for monitoring purposes
