The Government has announced its National Plan for Music on Saturday 25 June 2022, which sets out the government's vision to enable all children and young people in England to:
- learn to sing, play an instrument and create music together
- have the opportunity to progress their musical interests and talents, including professionally
The plan sets out how we will achieve this vision by 2030, emphasising the importance of partnerships between education settings, music hubs, music organisations working with young people and the music industry.
Children across the country to be supported to find and develop their passions through increased opportunities to study music, learn instruments and take up sports and activities thanks to this multi-million-pound investment into sports and music education.
The National Plan for Music builds on the Government's pledge set out in the School's White Paper, to provide all children with an enriching school curriculum, helping to level-up their opportunities as well as their educational outcomes.
