Have a go days at Surrey Fire and Rescue Service

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a firefighter?

We are planning 'Have a go' days to support candidates who are going through the recruitment and selection process. Our sessions give you practical, hands-on experience of what it's like to be a firefighter. They also offer guidance on helping you achieve your fitness goals.

More information, including dates and locations of upcoming sessions, will be added here soon. Look out for more information on our Facebook page and Twitter feed.

If you would like to take part, simply pop along to Guildford Fire Station on Monday evenings at 6.30pm or email the Recruitment Hub: sfrs.recruiting@surreycc.gov.uk for more information.

Please note the sessions do not run on Bank Holidays.

Attendance at the #SurreyFireFit sessions at Guildford Fire Station are voluntary. Please note this is a fitness session, not an application to join the Service and has no bearing on your eligibility to apply or suitability for the role.

Question and answer sessions

We will be creating question and answer sessions for those who wish to learn more about the role from both Wholetime and On-Call Firefighters within our service. These sessions shall be supported by the Recruitment Hub, and will allow attendees to ask our Firefighters about their training, their careers to date, and what it is like to serve their communities. Any question and answer sessions will be scheduled to take place virtually, with dates highlighted below:
