Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023

On 13 December 2023 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Wolsey Road (D3247) Ashford as extends from its junction with (C241) Stanwell Road to its junction with (D3247) Ford Road.

Alternative Route: (i) Stanwell Road, Chaucer Road, and Ford Road; (ii) Stanwell Road, Chesterfield Road, and Ford Road.

This Order is required to facilitate gas mains replacement works for, or on behalf of Cadent Gas. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 21 days between the hours of 8am and 5pm, Monday to Saturday, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 03 January 2024.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists. Road plates will be added out of working hours. In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time, under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period.
