Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
On 09 August 2023 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Westcott Street (D272) Westcott as extends from its south western junction with (A25) Guildford to its junction with (X14105) The Paddock.
Alternative Route - A25 Guildford Road; and the north-eastern arm of Westcott Street or this same route in reverse.
The Order is required to facilitate new mains electrical connection works to be carried out by, or on behalf of UK Power Networks within the length of road described in this notice. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 5 days between the hours of 8am and 5pm within the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Traffic Order which commences on 14 August 2023.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will operate only when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road including access by emergency vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists. All other traffic for Westcott Road should use the signed diversion route.
