West Street (B280) Epsom
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
On 17 May 2023 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of West Street (B280) Epsom as extends from its junction with (C195) Station Approach to its junction with (D2446) Wheelers Lane.
Alternative Route: a) West Street, West Hill, Christ Church Road, Horton Lane, Hook Road, East Street, High Street, Ashley Road, Ashley Avenue, South Street, and West Hill and; b) West Street, High Street, East Street, Hook Road, Horton Lane, Christ Church Road, West Hill, and West Street.
This Order is required to carry out bridge maintenance works by, or on behalf of Network Rail. These works are anticipated to be completed over 50 nights between 8pm and 6am during the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 05 June 2023.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in force 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Due to the nature of the works it will not be possible to maintain vehicular access through the closure, and all vehicular traffic, including the emergency services will be required to use the signed diversion route. No sole access will be affected by this closure.
