Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023

On 02 August 2023 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Warwicks Bench Road (D4015) Guildford as extends from its junction with (D4015) Echo Pit Road to its junction with (D4015) Wych Elm Rise.

Alternative Route: a) Warwicks Bench Road, Echo Pit Road, Pilgrims Way, (A281) Shalford Road, (A281) Millbrook, (A322) Onslow Street, (A246) York Road, (A246) Weaterden Road, Harvey Road, Bright Hill, Sydenham Road, South Hill, and Warwicks Bench Road, and

b) Warwicks Bench Road, South Hill, Sydenham Road, Jenner Road, (A246) Epsom Road, (A3100) London Road, (A246) York Road, (A322) Onslow Street, (A281) Millbrook, (A281) Shalford Road, Pilgrims Way, Echo Pit Road, and Warwicks Bench Road.

This Order is required to facilitate installation of valve and chamber works for, or on behalf of Thames Water. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 12 days between the hours of 8am and 5pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 14 August 2023.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists.
