Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024

On 10 April 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in;

(a) the entire length of Warwick Wold Road (D388) Merstham;

(b) that length of Pendell Road (C69) Bletchingley as extends from its junction with (C69) Bletchingley Road to its junction with (D389 Big Common Lane and (D389) Sandy Lane.

Alternative Route: (1) Hilltop Lane, (B2031) Rook Lane, (B2031) Dean Lane, (B2031) Alderstead Lane, (B2031) Shepherds Hill, (A23) London Road North, (A23) High Street, School Hill, and Bletchingley Road, or this route in reverse;

(2) Little Common Lane, (A25) Castle Street, (A25) Bletchingley Road, (A25) High Street, (A25) Nutfield Road, (A25) Redstone Hill, (A23) Marketfield Way, (A23) Princess Way, (A23) London Road, (A23) London Road South, School Hill, and Blechingley Road, or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to facilitate mains water replacement works for, or on behalf of SES Water. These works are anticipated to be carried out in 3 phases over 8 months, between the hours of 8am and 5pm within 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 16 April 2024.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for residents, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. All other traffic, including the emergency services will be required to use the signed diversion route.
