Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.6) 2023

On 18 October 2023 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice.

This Order, which will commence on 30 October 2023 for a period of 18 months is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the said roads, to be carried out by or on behalf of Surrey County Council, including but not limited to: carriageway/footway patching and/or carriageway/ footway surface dressing and/or carriageway/ footway resurfacing and/or major highway maintenance works.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed; and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle's owner. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times, as will access for emergency service vehicles in an emergency situation only. Vehicular access for residents and businesses will be maintained only when safe to do so, if necessary, via the diversion routes.

During certain phases of the works, vehicular access to premises may be restricted, when this is the case such restriction of access will apply for no more than eight hours within any 24-hour period.

(c) The entire length of Brook Road (C31) Sandhills Godalming.

Alternative Route: (A283) Petworth Road (Wormley), (A283) Petworth Road (Whitley/Milford), and (A286) Haslemere Road.

(d) The entire length of North Breache Lane (D276) Cranleigh.

Alternative Route: (B2127) Ockley Road, (D279) Lyefield Lane, and (D278) Lower Breache Road.

(e) That length of Fulbrook Lane (D89) Godalming as extends from its junction with (B3001) Farnham Road to its junction with (D89) Suffield Lane.

Alternative Route: Littleworth Road, Seale Road, and (B3001) Farnham Road.

(f) That length of Suffield Lane (D89) Puttenham as extends from its junction with (D89) Fulbrook Lane to its junction with (C23) Littleworth Road.

Alternative Route: Littleworth Road, Seale Road, and (B3001) Farnham Road.

(g) The entire length of Knowle Lane (D184) Cranleigh.

Alternative Route: (B2128) High Street, (B2128) Horsham Road, (B2128) Church Street, (A281) Guildford Road, and (D184) Cooks Hill.

(h) The entire length of Vann Lane (D162) Hambledon.

Alternative Route: (D166) Vann Lane, (D166) The Cricket Green, (C31) Lane End, (A293) Petworth Road, and (D163) Skinners Lane.

(i) The entire length of Killinghurst Lane (D157) and (D158) Godalming.

Alternative Route: (B2131) Petworth Road, (B2131) Rodgate Lane, and (A283) Petworth Road.

(j) That length of Horsham Road (B2128) Cranleigh as extends from its junction with (X67889) Dunpits Lane to its junction with (C47) Somersbury Lane.

Alternative Route: (C47) Somersbury Lane, (C47) The Green, (B2127) Cranleigh Road, (B2127) Bookhurst Road, (B2127) Ewhurst Road, (B2128) Horsham Road.

(k) That length of Old Portsmouth Road (C30) Godalming as extends from its junction with (A3) Old Portsmouth Road to its junction with (C30) Dyehouse Road.

Alternative Route: (1): (C30) Portsmouth Road, (C30) Dyehouse Road, (C29) Thursley Road, (B3001) Milford Road, (B3001) Elstead Road, (A283) Elstead Road Roundabout, (A283) Link Road, (A283) Guildford Road Roundabout, (A3) Milford Bypass.

(2): (A3) Portsmouth Road (southbound), (A3) Hindhead Tunnel Road (southbound), (D5507) Hazel Grove, (A333) Portsmouth Road, (A3) Hindhead Tunnel Road (northbound), (A3) Portsmouth Road (northbound), (C30) Old Portsmouth Road, and (C30) Dyehouse Road.
