Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.4) 2023
On 09 August 2023 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice.
This Order is required to facilitate highways improvement and/or maintenance works by or on behalf of Surrey County Council. This Order, which will commence on 21 August 2023 for a period of 18 months is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the said roads, to be carried out by or on behalf of Surrey County Council, including but not limited to: carriageway/footway patching and/or carriageway/ footway surface dressing and/or carriageway/ footway resurfacing and/or major highway maintenance works.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed; and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle's owner.
Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times, as will access for emergency service vehicles in an emergency situation only. Vehicular access for residents and businesses will be maintained only when safe to do so, if necessary, via the diversion route. During certain phases of the works, vehicular access to premises may be restricted, when this is the case such restriction of access will apply for no more than eight hours within any 24-hour period.
Schedule
(a) that length of Tilford Road (C28) Farnham as extends from its junction with (C122) Great Austins to its junction with (D5300) Lodge Hill Road.
Alternative Route: Tilford Road, Jumps Road, (A287) Farnham Road, (A287) Frensham Road, and Great Austins or this route in reverse.
(b) that length of Midhurst Road (A286) Haslemere as extends from its junction with (X286) Scotlands Drive to its junction with (D5524) Scotland Lane.
Alternative Route: (A286) Midhurst Road, (A272) Tillington Road, (A283) London Road, (A283) Cripplecrutch Hill, (B2131) Rodgate Lane, and (B2131) Petworth Road or this route in reverse.
(c) that length of Frensham Road (A287) Farnham as extends from its junction with (B3384) Ridgway Road to its junction with (D5313) Middle Bourne Lane.
Alternative Route: (A287) Tilford Road, (C29) Thursley Road, (B3001) Farnham Road, (B3001) Waverley Lane, (C28) Tilford Road, (C122) Great Austins, (C122) Old Farnham Lane, and (A287) Frensham Road.

Westbound- (B3228) West Street, The Borough, (B3228) Bear Lane, Woolmead, East Street, Guildford Road, (A31) The Shepherd and Flock Roundabout, and (A31) Farnham By-pass.
