Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023

On 17 May 2023 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to (a) temporarily prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice; and (b) suspend "The Surrey County Council C248 Kingston Road and D3306 Edinburgh Drive Laleham and D3219 Cordelia Road Stanwell Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2022" insofar as it affects that length of road specified in part (c) of the Schedule to this Notice.

This Order, which will commence on 07 June 2023 for a period of 18 months is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the said roads, to be carried out by or on behalf of Surrey County Council, including but not limited to: carriageway patching and/or carriageway surface dressing and/or carriageway resurfacing and/or major highway maintenance works.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed; and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle's owner.

Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times, as will access for emergency service vehicles in an emergency situation only. Vehicular access for residents and businesses will be maintained only when safe to do so, if necessary, via the diversion route. During certain phases of the works, vehicular access to premises may be restricted, when this is the case such restriction of access will apply for no more than eight hours within any 24-hour period.

Alternative Route: (B378) Stanwell Road, (A30) London Road, (A308) London Road, (A308) Staines By-pass, (A308) Staines Road West, (B378) Scholl Road, (B378) Convent Road, and (B377) Feltham Road or this route in reverse.

(b) the entire length of Clare Road (D3223) Stanwell. Alternative Route: (C238) Bedfont Road, (C238) High Street, and (B378) Town Lane.

(c) the entire length of Kingston Road (C248) Staines Upon Thames. Alternative Route: (A308) London Road, (A30) Staines By-pass, (A308) Staines By-pass, and (B377) Kingston Road.

(d) the entire length of Kenilworth Road (D3234) Ashford. Alternative Route: (1) (A30) London Road, (A30) Staines By-pass, (A30) London Road and (B378) Stanwell Road and; (2) (B378) Stanwell Road and (A30) London Road.

(e) the entire length of Station Crescent (D3237) Ashford. Alternative Route: (B378) Stanwell Road, (D3234) Kenilworth Road, (D3234) Cumberland Road and (D3236) Avondale Road or this route in reverse.

(f) the entire length of Ashford Crescent (D3234) Ashford. Alternative Route: (D3234) Kenilworth Road, (B378) Stanwell Road, and (D3237) Station Crescent or this route in reverse.

(g) that length of Wraysbury Road (B376) Staines Upon Thames as extends from its junction with (B376) Bridge Street and for a distance of 770 meters in a northwesterly direction to the county boundary. Alternative Route: (B376) Bridge Street, (A308) Staines Bridge (7.5T weight limit), (A308) Chertsey Lane, (A308) The Causeway, (A308) The Glanty, (A30) Egham By-pass, (A30) Slip Road, (A30) Staines By-pass, and Heron Lake Road or this route in reverse.

(h) the entire length of South Street (A308) Staines Upon Thames. (k) the entire length of Marlborough Road (D3243) Ashford. Alternative Route: (D3244) Talbot Road, (D3244) Wellington Road, (D3244) Ferndale Road, (D3242) Townsend Road, and (D3242) Chesterfield Road or this route in reverse.

(l) the entire length of Napier Road (D6214) Ashford. Alternative Route: (1) (A308) Staines Road West, (D6213) Alexandra Road, and (C233) Chertsey Road and; (2) (C233) Chertsey Road, (D6214) The Drive, and (A308) Staines Road West.
