Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.5) 2023

On 11 October 2023 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to

(a) temporarily prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice; and

(b) suspend "The Surrey County Council Holtwood Road (D6860) Oxshott & Sheath Lane (D6860) Oxshott Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023" insofar as it affects that lengths of roads specified in parts (b) and (c) of the Schedule to this Notice.

This Order is required to facilitate gas mains replacement works for, or on behalf of SGN. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 3 weeks between the hours of 8am and 4.30pm, Monday to Friday only, within 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 23 October 2023. The works will be carried out in 2 phases.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in force 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. It will not be possible to maintain access through the closure for emergency services, residents and businesses and all vehicular traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route. No sole access will be affected by this closure.

Schedule

(a) that length of Steels Lane (D6861) Oxshott as extends from its junction with (D6861) The Green to its junction with (X9754) Lavender Gate.

(b) that length of Sheath Lane (D6860) Oxshott as extends from its junction with (D6861) Steels Lane to its junction with (X16048) Pond Piece.

(c) that length of Holtwood Road (D6860) Oxshott as extends from its junction with (D6860) Sheath Lane to its junction with the access to the property known as "Oxshott Village Centre".

(d) that length of Oakshade Road (D6862) Oxshott as extends from its junction with (D6861) Steels Lane to its junction with the access to the property known as "St Andrews Church".

Alternative Route is the same for all closures: Steels Lane, Blundel Lane, (A245) Stoke Road, (A245) Woodlands Lane, Oaklawn Road, and (A244) Leatherhead Road or this route in reverse.
