Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023

On 26 July 2023 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit all traffic from entering or proceeding in that length of Vann Lane (D162) Chiddingfold as extends from its junction with (D164) White Beech Lane to its junction with (D162) Upper Vann Lane.

Alternative Route: Vann Lane, Skinners Lane, Petworth Road, Lane End, The Cricket Green, (D166) Vann Lane, and (D162) Vann Lane or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to facilitate installation of a new electrical connection, works to be carried out by, or on behalf of SSEN, these works will be carried out on that length of Vann Lane between Rights of Way route (212) and Rights of Way route (539). These works are anticipated to be carried out over 3 days between the hours of 8am and 5pm, during the 12 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 07 August 2023.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times via road plates if necessary. There will be no access through the works area for pedestrians and cyclists and they will be required to follow the diversion route: Rights of Way route (212) and Rights of Way route (539).
