Twelve Acre Close (D2646) Bookham and Spring Grove (D2604) Fetcham
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
On 31 May 2023 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of:
(a) Twelve Acre Close (D2646) Bookham.
Alternative Route: (a) Barn Meadow Lane, Church Road, and Edenside Road or this route in reverse; and (b) Spring Grove (D2604) Fetcham.
Alternative Route: Kennel Lane, The Glade, The Copse, Meadow Way, and Eastwick Drive or this route in reverse.
This Order, which will commence on 21 June 2023 for a period of 18 months is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the said roads, to be carried out by or on behalf of Surrey County Council, including but not limited to: carriageway surfacing and/or major highway maintenance works. These works are anticipated to take place as soon as possible over 6 months between the hours of 8am and 5pm.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed; and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle's owner.
Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times, as will access for emergency service vehicles in an emergency situation only. Vehicular access for residents and businesses will be maintained only when safe to do so, if necessary, via the diversion route.
During certain phases of the works, vehicular access to premises may be restricted, when this is the case such restriction of access will apply for no more than eight hours within any 24-hour period.
