Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023

On 20 December 2023 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of the south eastbound carriageway of The Hythe (D3137) Staines Upon Thames as extends from its junction with (A308) Staines Bridge and for a distance of 40 metres along (D3137) The Hythe.

Alternative Route: (A308) Staines Bridge, (A308) Chertsey Lane, (D3138) Chertsey Lane, and The Hythe.

This Order is required to carry out gas mains replacement works for, or on behalf of Cadent Gas. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 22 days, between 8am and 6pm during the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 15 January 2024.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists. All other traffic will be required to follow the alternative route described above. No sole access is affected by this closure.
