Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
On 10 May 2023 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of (a) Tandridge Lane (C83) Tandridge as extends from its junction with (C86) New Road to its junction with (C86) Miles Lane.
Alternative Route –New Road and Miles Lane; and (b) Kent Hatch Road (B269) Limpsfield as extends from its junction with (D436) Ridlands Lane to a point 175m west of the boundary line between Surrey County Council and Kent County Council.
Alternative Route – Kent Hatch Road, Hosey Common Road, Hosey Hill and (A25) Westerham Road.
This Order, which will commence on 03 June 2023 for a period of 18 months is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the said roads, to be carried out by or on behalf of Surrey County Council, including but not limited to: carriageway surfacing and/or major highway maintenance works.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed; and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle's owner.
Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times, as will access for emergency service vehicles in an emergency situation only. Vehicular access for residents and businesses will be maintained only when safe to do so, if necessary, via the diversion route. During certain phases of the works, vehicular access to premises may be restricted, when this is the case such restriction of access will apply for no more than eight hours within any 24-hour period.
