Stan Hill (C61) and Norwood Hill (D330) Charlwood
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
On 9 August 2023 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in (a) that length of Stan Hill (C61) Charlwood at its junction with (D330) Norwood Hill and for a distance of 75 metres to either side; and (b) that length of Norwood Hill (D330) Charlwood as extends from its junction with (C61) Stan Hill northwards for a distance of 50 metres.
Alternative Routes – Stan Hill; Norwood Hill Road; Smalls Hill Road; Clayhill Road; Broad Lane; Partridge Lane; Blanks Lane; and Stan Hill or this same route in reverse.
The Order is required to allow new drainage asset installation works to be carried out by, or on behalf of Surrey County Council within the length of road described in this notice. These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible between the hours of 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday within the 18-month period of operation of the Temporary Order that commences on 14 August 2023.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle's owner. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times, as will access for emergency service vehicles in an emergency situation only. Vehicular access for residents and businesses will be maintained only when safe to do so, if necessary, via the diversion route.
During certain phases of the works, vehicular access to premises may be restricted, when this is the case such restriction of access will apply for no more than eight hours within any 24-hour period.
