Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023

On 12 April 2023 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, the effect of which will be to;

(a) prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of the westbound carriageway of Staines Road West (A308) Ashford as extends in the dedicated right hand turn lane from a point approximately 60 metres east of its junction with (C233) Littleton Road to its junction with (C233) Littleton Road

(b) prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of the eastbound carriageway of Staines Road West (A308) Ashford as extends in the dedicated right hand turn lane from a point approximately 75 metres west of its junction with (C233) Chertsey Road to its junction with (C233) Chertsey Road

(c) prohibit vehicles that are travelling westbound on Staines Road West (A308) Ashford from turning right into (C233) Littleton Road; and

(d) prohibit vehicles that are travelling eastwards on Station Road West (A308) Ashford from turning right into (C233) Chertsey Road.

Alternative Route – (1) Staines Road West, School Road, Feltham Hill Road and Chertsey Road and; (2) Chersey Road, Feltham Hill Road, School Road, Ashford Road, and Litteton Road.

This Temporary Traffic Order is required to allow improvement works and/or any other associated works to be carried out by, or on behalf of Surrey County Council. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 4 months within the 18 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 01 May 2023.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary prohibitions, which are anticipated to be in force 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. The above restriction shall not apply to vehicles being used in relation to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; or in accordance with any restrictions or requirement indicated by traffic signs placed on the road by or on behalf of the Police.
