Spring Street (B2200) and Chessington Road (B2200) Ewell
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023

On 09 August 2023 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of

(a) Spring Street (B2200) Ewell as extends from its junction with (B2200) High Street to its junctions with (B2200) Chessington Road. Alternative Route - High Street; London Road; A240 Kingston Road; Ruxley Lane; and Chessington Road; and

(b) Chessington Road (B2200) Ewell as extends from its junctions with (B2200) Spring Street to its junction with (D2320) Old Schools Lane.

Alternative Route - Chessington Road; Ruxley Lane; A240 Kingston Road/Ewell By-Pass; London Road; Kingston Road; and Chessington Road.

The Order is required to facilitate gully cleaning and/or telecoms cabling works and/or any other associated works to be carried out by, or on behalf of Circet and/or BT Openreach within the length of road described in this notice. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 5 nights between the hours of 10pm and 6am within the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Traffic Order which commences on 21 August 2023.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will operate only when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road including access by emergency vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists. All other traffic should use the signed diversion route.
