Park Lane (D2628) Ashtead
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
On 19 July 2023 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Park Lane (D2628) Ashtead as extends from its junction with (D2628) Chalk Lane to its junction with (D2627) Oaken Coppice.
Alternative Route: Park Lane, Farm Lane, Downs Road, Headley Road, Wilmerhatch Lane, Woodcote Side, (A24) Dorking Road, and (A24) Epsom Road or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to facilitate sewer connection works for, or on behalf of GD Contracting Ltd. These works are anticipated to be completed over 8 days between the hours of 8am and 4.30pm within 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 31 July 2023.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians, dismounted cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times. It will not be possible to maintain access through the closure for emergency services, residents and businesses and all vehicular traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route.
The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises within the length of road above, or accessible only therefrom, may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.
