Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023

On 10 May 2023 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Middle Hill (D7007) Englefield Green as extends from its junction with (A328) St Judes Road to its junction with (D3126) Harvest Road.

Alternative Route – (A328) St Judes Road and (D3126) Barley Mow Road or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to facilitate new gas connection works for or on behalf of Cadent Gas. These works are anticipated to be completed over 3 days between the hours of 8am and 5pm within 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 31 May 2023.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians will be maintained at all times. It will not be possible to maintain access through the closure for emergency services, residents and businesses and all vehicular traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route. The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises within the length of road above, or accessible only therefrom, may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.
