Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
On 13 December 2023 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of Merryacres (D929) Witley Godalming.
This Order is required to facilitate water mains replacement works for, or on behalf of Thames Water. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 16 weeks, Monday to Friday between the hours of 7am and 7pm, Saturdays between the hours of 8am and 5pm, and Sundays between the hours of 9am and 1pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 02 January 2024.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists. There is no alternative route for this closure.
