Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023

On 20 December 2023 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Highercombe Road (D5528) Haslemere as extends from its junction with the access to the property known as "Woodfalls" to its junction with the access to the property known as "Grays Lodge".

Alternative Route: Highercombe Road, (A286) Grayswood Road, Three Gates Lane, and Highercombe Road, or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to carry out electricity utility works for, or on behalf of SSEN. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 4 days between 8am and 5pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 15 January 2024.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in force 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Due to the nature of the works, it will not be possible to maintain vehicular access through the closure, and all vehicular traffic, including the emergency services will be required to use the signed diversion route. No sole access will be affected by this closure.
