Guildford Street (D3040) and Guildford Street (B375) Chertsey
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
On 23 August 2023 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of;
a) Guildford Street (D3040) Chertsey as extends from its junction with (A317) Pyrcroft Road to its junction with (B375) Curfew Bell Road and;
b) Guildford Street (B375) Chertsey as extends from its junction with (B375) Curfew Bell Road to its junction with (B375) Heriot Road.
Alternative Route: (A317) Eastworth Road, (B387) Fordwater Road, Weir Road, (B375) Bridge Road, London Street, Heriot Road, and (B375) Guildford Street.
This Order is required to facilitate highways carriageway patching works and/or maintenance works by, or on behalf of Surrey County Council. These works are anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within 18-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 05 September 2023. These will be nightworks, between the hours of 8pm and 6am.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access to premises within the affected length of road including access by emergency vehicles to these properties will be maintained only when safe to do so, if necessary, via the diversion route. All other traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route.
During certain phases of the works, vehicular access to premises may be restricted, when this is the case such restriction of access will apply for no more than eight hours within any 24-hour period.
