Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
On 26 April 2023 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Guildford Road (A320) Woking as extends from its northern junction with (D3685) Prey Heath Road to its junction at the roundabout with Guildford Road (B380), (B380) Mayford Green and (A320) Egley Road.
Alternative Route: (B380) Guildford Road, (D7304) Guildford Road and (A320) Guildford Road or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to carry out renewal of Vehicle Restraint System works, and/or other maintenance works by, or on behalf of Surrey County Council. These works are anticipated to be completed within 18 months of this Order which will commence on 17 May 2023.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in force 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Due to the nature of the works, it will not be possible to maintain vehicular access through the closure, and all vehicular traffic, including the emergency services will be required to use the signed diversion route. No sole access will be affected by this closure.
