Ferry Lane (D6285) Shepperton
Temporary Traffic Management Order (No.2) 2023

On 21 June 2023 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) and 14 (7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily –
(a) prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of Ferry Lane (D6285) Shepperton; and

(b) prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading and unloading at any time on both sides of the entire length of Ferry Lane (D6285) Shepperton.

(c) Suspend "The Surrey County Council (Various Roads in Spelthorne) (Revocation and Consolidation of Waiting Loading and Unloading Prohibition and Restriction) Order 2005 as amended insofar as it relates to that length of Ferry Lane specified in sub-paragraph (b).

(d) Suspend the one-way system of traffic in the entire length of Towpath (D6284) Shepperton that is imposed by "The Spelthorne Borough Council (Towpath, Shepperton) (One-Way Traffic) Order 1983".

(e) Suspend the one-way system of traffic in the entire length of Towpath (D6284) Shepperton that is imposed by "The Spelthorne Borough Council (Towpath, Shepperton)(One Way Traffic) Order 1986".

(f) Suspend "The Surrey County Council Ferry Lane (D6285) Shepperton Temporary Traffic Management Order 2023" in its entirety.

The Order is required to allow utility works to be carried out by, or on behalf of BT Openreach within the length of road described in this notice. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 5 days between the hours of 9.30am and 3pm Monday to Friday, within the 12 month period of operation of the Temporary Order that commences on 14 July 2023.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary restrictions and the suspension of the Orders will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed and to the extent indicated by those traffic signs. For sub-paragraph (a) above: Access for emergency services, residents and pedestrians will be maintained at all times. All other vehicular traffic will be required to follow the diversion route. Alternative Route: Chertsey Road, Dockett Eddy Lane, and the Towpath or this route in reverse.

For sub-paragraphs (b) and (c) above: Exemptions apply for vehicles when waiting because they are required by law to stop, are obliged to stop in order to prevent an accident or are prevented from proceeding because of circumstances outside the drivers control and in respect of anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or of a civil enforcement officer will apply when the temporary restrictions are in force. (N.B. Disabled persons displaying a disabled blue badge will not be exempt from the temporary waiting restriction).
