Feltham Hill Road (D6205) and Southfields Avenue Ashford
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
On 21 February 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of;
(a) Feltham Hill Road (D6205) Ashford as extends from its junction with (D3270) Chessholme Road to its junction with (D3270) Redleaves Avenue; and
(b) Southfields Avenue Ashford as extends from its junction with Feltham Hill Road (D6205) Ashford and for a distance of 25 metres along Southfields Avenue.
Alternative Route: (1) Feltham Hill Road, (B378) School Road, (A308) Staines Road West, Chertsey Road, and Feltham Hill Road, or this route in reverse;
(2) Southfields Avenue, Redleaves Avenue, and Feltham Hill Road, or this route in reverse; (3) Park Road, New Park Road, Poplar Road, and Feltham Hill Road, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to facilitate pedestrian safety improvement works for, or on behalf of Surrey County Council. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 4 weeks, between the hours of 8am and 5pm within 18-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 04 March 2024.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed; and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle's owner. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access to premises within the affected length of road including access by emergency vehicles to these properties will be maintained only when safe to do so, if necessary, via the diversion route. All other traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route.
