Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023

On 5 April 2023 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Fairmile Lane (C157) Cobham as extends from its junction with (A307) Portsmouth Road to its junction with (D6857) Nightingale Close.

Alternative Route – Fairmile Lane, Leigh Hill Road, (A245) Stoke Road, (A245) Mill Road, (A245) High Street, (A245) Between Streets and (A307) Portsmouth Road or this route in reverse.

The Order is required to allow junction improvement works and/or utility maintenance works to be carried out by, or on behalf of Hobart Paving Company within the length of road described in this notice. These works are anticipated to be carried out over five nights between the hours of 8pm and 5.30am within the 12 month period of operation of the Temporary Order that commences on 24 April 2023.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians will be maintained at all times. It will not be possible to maintain access through the closure for emergency services, residents and businesses and all vehicular traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route.
