Dorking Road (B2032) Walton On The Hill
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
On 10 May 2023 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be; a) to prohibit vehicles from driving or proceeding at a speed greater than 30 MPH in that length of Dorking Road (B2032) Walton On The Hill from a point of 183 metres northeast of its junction with the access to the properties known as "Stonecrop" and "Moorland" to a point of 46 metres southwest of its junction with (B2220) Chequers Lane and; b) Suspend "The Borough of Reigate & Banstead (Dorking Road (Part) Walton On The Hill) (40 MPH Speed Limit) Order 2001" and any Speed Limit Order made or having effect as if made under Sections 82, 83 and/or 84 of the Act insofar as affects that length of Dorking Road (B2032) Walton On The Hill.
This Temporary Traffic Order is required to allow development related works and/or any other associated works to be carried out by, or on behalf of R&A Championships Ltd.
These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 7.15am and 6.45pm, within 4 months of the 18 month period of operation of this Temporary Traffic Order which commences on 29 May 2023.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary speed limit which is anticipated to be in force 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. The speed limit imposed by this Order shall not apply to vehicles used by special forces in accordance with the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 or in respect of anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or in accordance with any restriction or requirement indicated by traffic signs placed on the road by or on behalf of the Police.
