Cross Road (D1107) Tadworth
Temporary Traffic Management Order 2023
On 05 July 2023 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) and 14 (7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily –
(a) prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Cross Road (D1107) Tadworth as extends from its junction with (D1108) Epsom Lane South to its junction with (D1107) Tadorne Road; and
(b) prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading and unloading at any time in that length of Cross Road (D1107) Tadworth as extends from its junction with (D1108) Epsom Lane South to its junction with (D1107) Tadorne Road.
(c) Suspend "The Surrey County Council (Various Roads in Reigate and Banstead) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting Loading and Unloading and Revocation) Order 2013" as amended.
The Order is required to allow new sewerage connection works to be carried out by, or on behalf of NG Tunnelling within the length of road described in this notice. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 6 days between the hours of 8am and 4.30pm within the 12 month period of operation of the Temporary Order that commences on 17 July 2023.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary restrictions and the suspension of the Order will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed and to the extent indicated by those traffic signs. For sub-paragraph (a) above: Access for emergency services, residents and pedestrians will be maintained at all times. All other traffic will be required to follow the alternative route below. Alternative Route: Tadorne Road, Tadworth Street, Station Approach, (B290) Cross Road, (B290) Ashurst Road, Shelvers Way, and Tadorne Road or this route in reverse.
For sub-paragraphs (b) and (c) above: Exemptions apply for vehicles when waiting because they are required by law to stop, are obliged to stop in order to prevent an accident or are prevented from proceeding because of circumstances outside the drivers control and in respect of anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or of a civil enforcement officer will apply when the temporary restrictions are in force. (N.B. Disabled persons displaying a disabled blue badge will not be exempt from the temporary waiting restriction).
