Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
On 07 June 2023 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to
a) prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of Cogmans Lane (D369) Smallfield and;
b) suspend "The Surrey County Council Various Roads in the District of Tandridge Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.12) 2022" insofar as it affects that length of road specified in part (a) to this Notice.
Alternative Route: Normans Road, Chapel Road, Redehall Road, and Plough Road or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to carry out new customer water connection works by or on behalf of SES Water. These works are anticipated to be completed over 3 days, between 8am and 5pm during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 26 June 2023.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians, dismounted cyclists and dismounted equestrians will be maintained at all times.
It will not be possible to maintain access through the closure for emergency services, residents and businesses and all vehicular traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route. The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises within the length of road above, or accessible only therefrom, may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.
