Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
On 31 May 2023 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Cobham Road (D2508) Stoke D'Abernon as extends from its junction with (A245) Woodlands Lane to its junction with (X15191) Mark Oak Lane.
Alternative Route: a) (A245) Woodlands Lane, (A245) Randalls Road, (A245) Bull Hill, (A245) Station Road, (B2122) Waterway Road, (B2122) Guildford Road, and (D2508) Cobham Road and; b) (D2508) Cobham Road, (B2122) Guildford Road, (B2122) Waterway Road, (A245) Station Road, (A245) Station Approach Road, (A245) Randalls Road, and (A245) Woodlands Lane.
This Order is required to facilitate bridge replacement works for or on behalf of Connect Plus Services. These works are anticipated to be completed over 5 nights between the hours of 10pm and 5.30am within 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 19 June 2023.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. It will not be possible to maintain access through the closure for emergency services, residents and businesses and all vehicular traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route. The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises within the length of road above, or accessible only therefrom, may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.
