Cobham Road (D2508) Fetcham
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
On 7 June 2023 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Cobham Road (D2508) Fetcham as extends from its junction with (D2566) River Lane to its junction with (D2508) Shamrock Close.
Alternative Route: a) (D2508) Cobham Road, (A245) Woodlands Lane, (A245) Woodlands Road, (A245) Randalls Road, (A245) Bull Hill, (A245) Station Road, (B2122) Waterway Road, (B2122) Guildford Road, and; b) (D2508) Cobham Road, (B2122) Guildford Road, (B2122) Waterway Road, (A245) Station Approach Road, (A245) Randalls Road, (A245) Woodlands Road, (A245) Woodlands Lane, and (D2508) Cobham Road.
This Order is required to carry out bridge maintenance works by, or on behalf of Network Rail. These works are anticipated to be completed over 6 weeks between 7am and 7pm during the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 26 June 2023.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in force 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Due to the nature of the works it will not be possible to maintain vehicular access through the closure, and all vehicular traffic, including the emergency services will be required to use the signed diversion route.
The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises within the length of road above, or accessible only therefrom, may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.
