Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023

On 24 May 2023 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to a) prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of Church Street (C230) Sunbury On Thames; b) suspend "The Surrey County Council Various Roads in Spelthorne Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.4) 2022" insofar as it affects that length of road specified in part (a) to this Notice.

Alternative Route: Green Lane, (A308) Staines Road East, French Street, and Thames Street or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to carry out decaying telegraph pole replacement works by or on behalf of I & A Communications Ltd. These works are anticipated to be completed within 1 day, between 9.30am and 3.30pm during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 14 June 2023.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians will be maintained at all times. It will not be possible to maintain access through the closure for emergency services, residents and businesses and all vehicular traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route. The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises within the length of road above, or accessible only therefrom, may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.
