Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
On 03 May 2023 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Church Road (D2536) Bookham as extends from its junction with the entrance access to Bookham Station to the centre line of the access road leading to Bookham Industrial Estate.
Alternative Route:- Little Bookham Street, Lower Road and Church Road or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to facilitate replacement of sewer cover works for or on behalf of Thames Water. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 day between the hours of 8am and 12pm, during the 12 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 28 May 2023.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians. Please note that traffic coming from the Industrial Estate will be able to turn right on to Church Road. All other traffic will be required to follow the diversion route.
