Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023

On 12 July 2023 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Chertsey Road (C233) Sunbury On Thames as extends from its junction with (A244) Chertsey Road, (C233) Groveley Road, and (A244) Cadbury Road and for a distance of 125 meters in a south westerly direction along (C233) Chertsey Road. (1st roundabout of the BP International Complex).

Alternative Route: (C233) Chertsey Road, (A308) Staines Road West, (A244) Cadbury Road and (C233) Chertsey Road.

This Order is required to carry out gas mains replacement works by, or on behalf of Cadent Gas. These works are anticipated to be completed over 26 days between 8am and 6pm, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 24 July 2023.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in force 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Due to the nature of the works, it will not be possible to maintain vehicular access through the closure, and all vehicular traffic, including the emergency services will be required to use the signed diversion route. No sole access will be affected by this closure.
