Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.4) 2023
On 30 August 2023 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of;
a) Chapel Road (D1348) Warlingham and;
b) suspend "The Surrey County Council Various Roads in the District of Tandridge Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.3) 2023" insofar as it affects that length of road specified in part (a) to this Notice.
Alternative Route: (B269) Limpsfield Road, The Green, (B270) Westhall Road, and (D1348) Leas Road or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to facilitate planned gas works for, or on behalf of SGN. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 6 days between the hours of 8am and 4pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 11 September 2023.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in force 24 per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. It will not be possible to maintain access through the closure for emergency services, residents and businesses and all vehicular traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route.
The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises within the length of road above, or accessible only therefrom, may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.
