Byfleet Road (A318) New Haw and Oyster Lane (A318) West Byfleet
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
On 25 October 2023 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of; (a) Byfleet Road (A318) New Haw that is crossed under the bridge known as "Oyster Lane Bridge (2/79)" and for a distance of 50 metres; and (b) that length of Oyster Lane (A318) West Byfleet that is crossed under the bridge known as "Oyster Lane Bridge (2/79)" and for a distance of 50 metres.
Alternative Route: (A318) Byfleet Road, (B385) Woodham Lane, (A245) Sheerwater Road, (A245) Old Woking Road, (A245) Parvis Road, (A318) Sopwith Drive, (A318) Barnes Wallis Drive, and (A318) Oyster Lane, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to facilitate inspection of bridge works for, or on behalf of Network Rail. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 night between the hours of 9pm and 5am, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 07 November 2023.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists.
