Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
On 05 July 2023 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Brook Road (C31) Wormley as extends from its junction with (A283) Petworth Road to its junction with the access to the property known as "Queen Mary House" Brook Road.
Alternative Route: (A283) Petworth Road, (A283) Cherry Tree Roundabout, (A286) Haslemere Road, (D151) Church Lane, and (C31) Brook Road or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to facilitate railway cutting earthworks for or on behalf of Network Rail. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 6 weeks between the hours of 7am and 6pm, during the 18 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 19 July 2023.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained when safe to do so, however, when the lift is in operation at Churchill Bridge, they will be required to follow the diversion route.
